Our Diversity Statement

The Board of Directors of the San Antonio Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals recognizes the imperative of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) in the profession of fundraising and the broader community; and

We understand that Inclusion is the act of ensuring that individuals feel a sense of belonging and are recognized and valued as integral members of the organization; and

We acknowledge that Diversity embodies all the differences that make us unique, including but not limited to race, color, ethnicity, language, nationality, sexual orientation, religion, gender, socioeconomic status, age, physical and mental ability; and

We understand that Equity is the fair treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement for all people, while simultaneously striving to identify and eliminate barriers that have prevented the full participation of certain groups; and

We believe that Access is how individuals fully participate in the necessary systems and use the resources they need to thrive and achieve their full potential;

AFP San Antonio is committed to promoting IDEA within our chapter, the fundraising profession, and the broader community.

This commitment includes but is not limited to:

  • Advocating for and nurturing an environment of inclusivity, diversity, equity, and access within our chapter and among our members.
  • Ensuring that our programs, initiatives, and decision-making processes reflect this commitment.
  • Continually reviewing and updating our practices to ensure alignment with our IDEA values.
