The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) is the professional association of individuals and organizations that generate philanthropic support for a wide variety of charitable institutions. Founded in 1960, AFP advances philanthropy through its more than 30,000 members in 230 chapters throughout the world. What started as a modest beginning in 1984 with 24 founding members, membership in the San Antonio chapter has grown to over 300 members today. At the local level, AFP San Antonio provides members a network of hundreds of energetic, committed fellow practitioners; hosts regular seminars, workshops and an annual conference; and offers access to career opportunities and resources through our sponsors. Our 300 members represent the full range of nonprofit organizations including education, health care, human services, youth development and arts, as well as faith-based groups and critical areas of expertise in fundraising and communications.
AFP, an association of professionals throughout the world, advances philanthropy by enabling people and organizations to practice ethical and effective fundraising.
